Week 8 blog article 1

Private Virtual Infrastructure for Cloud Computing by F. John Krautheim

Krautheim, F. J. (2009). Private Virtual Infrastructure for Cloud Computing.HotCloud, 9, 2009-1.

I used google scholar for this first academic paper and the keyword I used is virtualization technology and cloud computing.

The type of paper it is, is a journal paper.

The reason it is an academic paper is because it meets these criteria it has a title which is Private Virtual Infrastructure for Cloud Computing as every academic paper must have a title as people will not know what it is then, the author has put their name and email on to the paper which is F. John Krautheim,University of Maryland, Baltimore County, 1000 Hilltop Circle, Baltimore, MD 21250, john.krautheim@umbc.edu.

Then there is the abstract which I personally think that this basically a part of the introduction as it basically saying what the topic is. Then there is the introduction which it is basically going into what cloud computing is and how it’s security is a risk at the moment.

I could go real in-depth for this next part but I am honestly not as it will overload my brain but I can say that it does have a review of other papers relevant to cloud computing, a description of what the research was and what the researchers did and the results of what they did.

The reason I didn’t go too in-depth is that this is my first time writing an academic paper and still getting used to seeing the parts that make an academic paper.

It has a conclusion at the end summarizing what he has done and what the results were of his research so basically summarizing each part and giving their results.

Lastly, there are the references in this one there are 9 references that he makes which in my mind that amount is what it makes it an academic paper.

This academic paper has about 119 citation made which is a lot to me as even though I am still learning this still in my mind is a lot of people who reviewed it.

Right from the start when seeing this article I said to myself I would read that as for me it is difficult to understand some technical speak as because of my condition it affects on how I learn but this one wasn’t hard as he didn’t go to really really in-depth in each part making it easier for me to understand the first couple of lines of what he was talking about so yes I would read this article.

DEFINITION

I kind of think it’s a little credible but also at the same time not as it is a defention basically mening different sites and people have different views on what virtualization is.

Web Article

I think this website is credible as even though sometimes Wikipedia is not a good place to research stuff from it still references good websites and external links which from the website and the length it credible it a sense but it does looks like it rumbles on a bit in tech speak which can of be annoyning when it comes to referencing parts from it.

Full Conference paper

I think this is credibile as from looking at it it doesn’t sound bias as the link has come from the digital NZ database and link is redirected to the CPIT website which again maakes it credible as it from another institute during it’s conference in 2004.

Teaching site

I think this teaching site is credible as in the pass I have used this website to research resources for my history assignments and also it good because it’s aimed at students and teachers. But it also good as it links to a video on there page which is this one http://elearning.tki.org.nz/Teaching/Digital-citizenship/Digital-citizenship-and-cybersafety

Virtual Machines Part 2

This post is a continuation of my last blog post about virtual machines. So why does virtual machines interest me all of a sudden will since last semester I have always had problems since I started using virtual machines and it has always be an interest since then as I want to try and find solutions to these problems as it will be useful to my tutor and also me at the same time as I learn more about it.

One of these videos is a tutorial on how to use vsphere which just didn’t have time to watch all of it but it is good for first time users who haven’t used it before. This is creditable because of the video actually coming from VMware there selfsame.

Then there is an article which I think was that good as even though I don’t administrate virtual machine at nmit this article was good even though it was out dated it was a good read with not a lot of tech speak when it came to explain the situation

http://www.virten.net/2013/01/my-top-10-vmware-myths-failures-and-issues/

This last one was kind of hard to find but it a blog post about the vsphere in general but is not good for me as I am only starting to use it but I can say it good for a research point of view as it giving information in their own view while trying to keep in mind the audience she is talking to.
